A snail-mail postcard to the first person to give us the correct name of the South African invention in this shot... no locals though, this one's too easy for you! We'll tell you a little about the history of this clever invention tomorrow.
Today is CTDP's one-month anniversary. Yay, virtual cake and tea for everyone! Thanks to everyone who's joined us here so far - this is turning out to be a really fun adventure.
I seem to remember that they are called Dolosse. They are man made blocks to break up the action of the sea on the coast and are made of cement. If I remember correctly, they can weigh up to 20 tons each and while invented in RSA, they now are used throughout the world.
>strangetastes - thanks for stopping by! I visited your blog earlier, and I'm really intrigued by your arch! >glenn, victoria and mandi - thanks for the "birthday" wishes; hope you're all still visiting us by the time we reach our real birthday next March! :)

Um, um, um, an artificial seawall or jetty made of big pre-cast concrete pieces?

Happy birthday to Cape Town DP!!! Greetings from up north here at ToruĊ DP!!
Happy one-month birthday! I don't know what those are, but it is a lovely shot.
I am not sure what they are but looks intriguing

They seem to be called Dolosse, and they are probably a South African invention; but I've seen many of them here in Portugal...
wherever it is its an interesting sight! and love the blue sky
Happy Birthday - that's great. I have no idea what those things are but it's a great photo.
An interesting picture not altogether unlike sea lions. I think they are something to do with breaking up the waves on the beaches. Not sure.
Thanks for coming by my blog and commenting on my Puppy dog story. I do appreciate.
