A long road together

It didn't look as though this couple was taking a walk on Long Beach to get fit - they strolled along at a more than comfortable pace.With the high incidence of divorce, it's great to see older couples still taking walks together on the beach. Our world is a busy one and it's easy to live past one another.
I guess that it won't be easy to tell, but I do wonder how many CTDP readers still go for walks with their partners.

My wife and I have been married for over 52 years and we usually go together everywhere. From the grocery store -- she takes a shopping cart and I take a shopping cart -- to the restaurant for a meal, now and then. Life is being best friends.
I'll admit, we've only been married for a year and a half, but we still take walks together.

I think walks - with anyone - is a wonderful way to both relax, and exercise not to mention enjoy nature/surroundings and take in the sights.
When I arrived in Vienna, I was a year apart already from my husband. While touring me around during my first days, we saw a fairly old couple walking together holding hands, one already has a cane...He asked 'Could we perhaps be like them when we grow old?' I did not answer but in my heart, I hope we would. Though he is a little busy with work nowadays.

g_mirage >> Thanks for your honest comment. All I can say is, make him make time. The truth is that if one doesn't make time in the former years, I can't imagine how it would be possible to be as the couple you saw in the latter years.
