Green Arrow - Blue Arrow

posted by Paul
Green Arrow Blue Arrow SignsI came upon these two signs in the V&A Waterfront but really don't know what they mean. I'd have to assume that they're related to some route (like a green route or a blue route) that takes tourists past points of interest in the Waterfront area. I'd imagine that there would also be some kind of a map detailing what can be found along the route.

This could however all be utter nonsense and so it would be awesome if someone could shed some light on this matter - either confirming my suspicions or pointing out their true meaning.

Have you seen these arrows before? Do you know for sure what they mean? Can you help?

Hi,
they are in fact related to a set of routes through the V&A waterfront area. You can see them all on a map here: http://www.waterfront.co.za/maps/

By the way, I love your blog and the pictures remind me of my last year's holidays.

Regards,
Frank (Hamburg/Germany)

This is actually a great photo.Almost reminds of those miniature traffic signs you get with some children's toys.

Nice photograph. I see y ou already got your question answered.

I was up and down and crawling around and bending over and watering and digging holes to plant about 6 plants or flowers yesterday.

But I think they looked nice and should look great in a few weeks.

I have enjoyed your blog.

Well, if you were on a ski slope the green would mean easy and the blue would be intermediate! it's nice to know other bloggers can help out! It is a cool sign , though.

@frank - ah, thanks Frank, you're a star. Thanks for adding the link to your comment. I see that there are yellow and red routes as well. I'll keep a lookout for those arrows next time I'm there.

@david - thanks David - yeah it does look kind-of like a part of a Fisher Price toy. Perhaps that's what appealed to me?

@abraham lincoln - Thanks so much, I'm glad that you enjoy visiting CTDP. BTW, I love your photo of the bee on the Narcissus flower.

@scraps of bev - Thank-you Bev, at least you now have a photo of the arrows. ;) It's strange that as a local one is sometimes oblivious to what tourists are doing, e.g. following green and blue arrows.

@neva - heh - skiing in Cape Town - rather unlikely, but a nice thought nevertheless. Come to think of it, I remember once there was a skiing competition at Big Bay. Some company hired a snow-making machine and set up an inflatable ski slope. It was pretty strange - skiing under the hot African sun. I wish I could have had a turn. :D
