Silent night, no rain in sight

posted by Paul
Clear skiesWe live in a city where it can be storming wildly one day, and the next day the weather is clear and quiet, just as though nature had never lost her temper.

After the past weekend's rain and heavy winds it must be hard to imagine that we've just had two days of perfectly clear weather. As quickly as bad weather arrives, it vanishes without a trace, leaving in its stead a crisp, clear and smogless skyline.

Ah, the beauty of Cape Town...

I was hoping to get a photo of the pink city skyline this evening, but ended up working a little later than normal. I snapped this shot as I was about to leave our parking garage.

Hello, here on the maltese Islands a thunderstorm kissed us hello goodbye as it came and left us in one night, come and see the photo if you like

What a beautiful day yesterday. Then I was woken by a massive downpour in the early hours of this morning here in Somerset West.
Like you say, the beauty of Cape Town.

That is a beautiful night sky picture and the scene is one I like. We just got a couple of drizzle rains last night. Each lasted 5 minutes. We are dry here and have not had any really nice or large amount of rain to fall since July.

I don't even want to think of rain, we've been having it bad here in the UK as well and I long for blue skies and sunshine.

I wish I could borrow this photo as it's exactly what I need for an assignment on our photography forum...I think I must also get out to take a photo as soon as it stops raining otherwise I'll miss the closing date.
