If I could save time in a bottle...

posted by Kerry-Anne
I attended the funeral of a friend's father today, and, as these things do, it made me stop and think once again about what's really important. Those who've been following our blog for a while will know that my own brother passed away at the beginning of the year. Here is part of a post I wrote for a forum at the time:
If you have family far away, call them and email them often. Your clients can wait. Your family can't. I often thought of phoning my brother to chat, but was always too busy on other people's urgent work - I would give anything now to have those hours and minutes back just to laugh with him and share the day-to-day trivialities of our lives.
We lose perspective very easily, as we get busy with work and deadlines and shopping and cutting the lawn and blogging and making food and watching TV and so on and so on.

So make some time for the important stuff today, okay?

Hi 'CT daily Blog' I feel your heartache, and hear your cry to 'stop and smell the daisy's' and tell those you love them daily! I also experienced loss, our's was 11years ago in March, and the pain never leaves. She was our young 20yr old precious daughter who was killed in a senseless road accident, and the driver of the other vehicle got off 'scott free'! But you have to accept things in life sometimes, and not become bitter or twisted. And know one day we'll see each other again. Have this blessed assurance. This life passes quickly. Take time out to smell the daisy's and tell those you care and love them! thanks for your wonderful blog. I enjoy it daily from Sydney Au ... www.thecapeclub.com

There are no words that can explain this kind of pain that you talk about, I feel it but its a bit different cause the person i want to be near me is in Cape Town, its too far away from where i sit right now and the miles cant be erased and i cant loose him cause i cant have him...So your site is like a cure for me , i feel CT so close when i am here...Thank you for making this happen

Yes, I think we're all guilty of losing sight of the 'important' things in life and sadly the things that bring us back on track are the painful ones...
