Lonely flower

posted by Paul

I don't have much to say about this photo except that for some reason I really like it. It seems so lonely amongst the dead brown leaves, but soon it will be just like they are - it's kinda sad don't you think? Would anyone like to take a stab at telling us what type of flower this is?

I have no idea about the name of the flower in your country. It is pretty and I am guessing it germinated from some seed in the area where there were flowers growing. The enlarged view makes it look more like a poppy and the yellow thing is an extra leaf that happened to fall on the flower.

That seed pod laying there looks like our locust tree seeds.

Hmmm, it doesn't look like a poppy to me. Not sure what the name is, but it looks pretty familiar.

Paul and Kerry-Anne, I have recently discovered your blog and I like it very much :)

That is a very nice image! It reminds me of photos with new snow on the last holdouts before winter.
