The waves of Kommetjie

posted by Paul

One of our regular readers sent us this photo that he took at Kommetjie beach. Isn't it spectacular? If you have a chance, take a look at some of his other photos on Flickr.

Kommetjie (loosely pronounced commey-key in english) is a small seaside suburb, south of Noordhoek on the Cape Peninsula, and is known as an excellent surfing spot - though I'm sure that you can tell this from the photo.

This photo goes out to westernflyer who left a comment a few days ago requesting a seaside photo. Voila!

Thank you!

I have Cape Town Daily Photo as the page on the first tab of my home page selection! So I get a little taste of SA with my tea each morning! Very nice shot of the gulls at Kommetjie!

I just found your blog and read the entire 2008 archives this morning! You have lovely photos, and diligence, but I want to say thank you for the little tid-bits of info. My fiance and I (swiss) are taking out honeymoon in south africa in december and i've begun culling the internet for more local, real advice and your blog here is great.

@jessica - I'm glad that you've enjoyed reading through the posts. I hope that you have a really awesome honneymoon here in South Africa. If you let us know the date's we'll put in a special request for the best weather. ;)

@bev - I hope you took a look at Alistair's Flickr stream. He has some really great shots there also.
