Fiat 500

posted by Paul
Kerry-Anne's brother owns this little Fiat 500 motor car... and he tells me that he still takes it for a drive every now and again. Surprising as that may be, with the ever-increasing price of petrol, perhaps we'll see more of these tiny vehicles on car dealers' showroom floors in the near future.

The slightly unusual angle of this photo hides the actual minuteness of this car: I don't think I'd actually manage to get in behind the wheel, let alone take the family out for a Sunday afternoon drive. :D

I had a fiat 500 in 1960. I then lived in PE and I often went to the drive-in with the wife and our first baby in his cot on the back seat. Plenty of room

The Fiat 500 has been re-released, continuing that whole nostalgic car thing that's been going on for a while.

It's apparently in SA now as well, although I haven't seen one yet.

@anonymous: I remember those drive-in days... going to watch the latest 007 movie. :)

@mjw: Thanks for the links mj. Kerry's brother John was really excited when he heard that it'd been released.

Hi - I'm just back from Ireland where I've seen the new
Fiat 500 and it is also tiny; wouldn't like to be squashed in the back seat
:)
