Come back, Spring, all is forgiven

posted by Kerry-Anne
After a week or so of absolutely perfect spring weather, it suddenly turned unexpectedly cold and gloomy today. Well, to be fair, not entirely unexpectedly - it is Friday tomorrow after all, and one certainly can't expect good weather over a weekend...

Hopefully this cold front will blow over quickly though, and we'll have more glorious blue-sky days to look forward to.

Must be honest, we`ve had a pretty mild winter in the Cape.

We certainly have. Except for that one week in July, which happened to be my birthday week... it NEVER rains on my birthday, but this year it rained and stormed all week.

Does this mean we're in for more wintry weather before spring settles in for good? I hope not - I'm kinda done with winter now. :)

The funniest about that week in July was that our family from Jhb was here. Shame, they couldn`t do anything! Thank goodness we had 2 portable dvd players and a LOT of dvd`s to keep the kids happy!

We`re bound to have more rain and stormy weather but I`m with you, I`ll settle for spring just about now.

And I imagine you got the old "Yes, well, this is typical of Cape Town weather" story, hmmm? Why do tourists from Joburg and Durban ALWAYS pick the one lousy week in the year to visit Cape Town? :P

I know!!! We were in Jhb last weekend and they were still discussing the horrible CT weather! Then, after trying to explain the awesome weather we`ve had the last few weeks and only getting blank stares in return I gave up.

I must be honest, I absolutely love rainy winters.
However, having said that, if I was on holiday in CT, that would not be my ideal weather.

I like this photo!!...Well you might be having rain in Cape Town but we're still in summer here in UK and we've had a bad past 2 weeks of cloudy, rainy weather and the trouble is we'll be heading out of summer soon.

Never mind I'll catch my sunshine next February in Cape Town
