Dogs on leashes - it's a by-law
posted by Paul
Like many people, you might be unsure of the law, but it's true - unless they are in specially designated areas all dogs must be kept on leashes when being taken for walks in public areas. While we watched people playing on the beach and freezing in the sea I noticed several dogs running unleashed on the beach. On the one hand I feel sorry for the dogs who really need to run free, but on the other hand I realise that some dogs are simply not social and friendly, and unfortunately it can't be left up to their owners to decide.

Beyond that I think that many beaches don't allow dogs at all, not that owner's heed the rule.
Strand beach is off-limits to dogs, except for a small section, way up one end.
A lovely shot. They should have dog beaches and non-dog beaches as we do in Menton. then everyone is happy!
Where ist that jungle Gym?
Beautiful Picture and what a good example they set. Remember you can always go to the lovely De Waal Park, Oranjezicht where well behaved dogs run free.
@Friends of De Wall Park - Thank-you! We'll stop by De Waal Park and take a few photos - thanks for the info.
