September Theme Day: Street lights and signs
posted by Paul
In the daylight there's really nothing special about this piece of road, but at night and through the lens of a camera it seems to have a special quality, don't you think?(While I was taking photos here a Navy-Seal-type armed response security guard who was patrolling the area came to check that I wasn't plotting a robbery. I received rather a blank stare after telling him that I was a photographer from Cape Town Daily Photo - as if it was CNN or Sky News - expecting that he would know exactly what I was talking about.)

Oh, nice..! :)
Greetings from

Beautiful photo. Well done!
You're right, it's really beautiful at nigh.
I didn't participate this month as I found nothing worthwhile to photograph among the few street signs and lights that we have where I live. Maybe next time.
I did enjoy your post about being accosted by the "What-cha-up-to?" department. It is really a paranoid world isn't it.
These night shots are so different, aren't they? Almost surreal.
Love your photo, the light looks like stars. happy theme day !

Nice shot of the night lights.
Interesting night scene and the color the lights suggest your city may be exposed to fog often.
I like your Nobel Square series... are there any statues of women?
Yes, I think the lights and the angle did give the scene a special quality. That was a clever thing to say to the security guard. I think I'll try it next time I get one of those "what-do-you-think-you-are doing-here" looks. :)
Starry, Starry streetlights...

well Fenix has said just almost exactly what I was going to say so I'll save my fingers..
How can the security guard think a man with a camera might be plotting a robbery. How funny of the security guard to think so.
the photo has a Christmas feel!
great photograph.
Beautiful photo Paul.
Your photography makes the stretch of road seem inviting.
Great shot!!
