Men at work #2

Auric Auto in Claremont loaned Kerry-Anne and I a Mini Cooper for the day yesterday. This photo was taken from the Mini as we sped past these guys digging a hole (or perhaps a trench) alongside the N1, one of our national highways. From our vantage point it looked as though only one of the six was working. Perhaps the guy wielding the pick-axe had lost a bet, or maybe he was just really committed to his job and decided to give his tea-break a miss. Who knows...?

Beautiful photo! Such a simple scene, but one can just feel the movement of the car.
Typical configuration for working teams - we see them quite often around here!
Yes this is very familiar all over the world I believe!!!
Love the can art - so quirky!!! I think a lot of the people selling art in SA are so clever - i bought quite a few things from the traffic light guys.
Also like the gun - too bad all guns don't look like this!!!
Maybe it's a practical course in trenching - teacher and students?
That is a nice post and typical of the workers sent out to work on telephone lines around here. One works three or four watch him work.
If you have not seen a tomato horn worm lately, complete with cocoons of predator wasps aboard, then take a look if you have time.
Or perhaps the 'tools budget' has been slashed ...
Anonymous (don't know if that's one Anonymous or two Anonymi) - thanks for the chuckle. :D
