White Christmas trees
Yes, of course Africa celebrates Christmas… but white Christmas trees? I have to say that the chance of having a White Christmas in Cape Town is pretty slim, especially with the incredibly hot days we’ve been having.
Every now and again I wish that we could send some of our warm weather over to Europe to alleviate some of pain that they’re feeling from the extreme cold spell that they’re (you’re) experiencing, but I very quickly take back these wishes as I remember our cold winter when I was practically counting down the days to summer!
Some day Kerry-Anne and I will visit the UK, France, or some similarly cold area over Christmas – just to see what a White Christmas is all about.
Pfft. Europe isn’t that important, send some nice weather to Canada instead

If it makes you feel any better it rained here last night. It’s still pretty warm though…
I haven’t posted for a while but looking at all these pictures is making me a little envious – I would do anything for a little bit of vitamin D.
What is worse than the cold is the sad fact that many people will not make it to their families for Christmas due to the problems with air, rail and road transport.
Paul/Kerry-Anne – Just want to say a big ‘merry’ thank you for all the wonderful pictures and insights in to your life in Cape Town. I’m looking forward to trying out some of the places on our next visit.

Yeah, we’ve heard the stories of people missing flights. Besides for not being able to make it to your destination for Christmas, imagine missing flights bound for warmer weather, and knowing that you’re holiday away from the cold just won’t happen. It sucks, I’m sure.
It’s a pleasure Natalie, it’s a pitty that you can’t be in Cape Town, trying out all those places, now.

I saw very nice Xmas trees in Woolworth in St George’s Mall. Simple, elegant in a very summer atmosphere.
